PASS THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY, AND COLLEAGUES WHO WANT TO HELP SENATOR OBAMA!
This week, our canvassing efforts are focused on Ohio. The following are the instructions for making calls in Ohio.
Call Instructions
You can start making calls right away by clicking on the link below, but to help the campaign keep track of those who have signed up to help, please email them at women@barackobama.com and let them know that you plan to make calls.
This is such an easy way for us to help make a difference in key primary states. Phone banking efforts made a big difference in recent primaries (especially Minnesota and Colorado) and your calls will make the difference on February 19th in Wisconsin.
Here’s how you can get started:
Click on this link: http://my.barackobama.com/page/contact/splash/callohwomen
On that page, currently headed “Reach out to women in Ohio” click on the box, “Click here to get started.” (Do not click on the link “Join our national call team”) You will go to a log-in page where you will be prompted to either enter your log-in information if you already have a my.barackobama.com account or to create an account – if you don’t already have a my.barackobama.com account don’t worry, it’s easy to sign up!
Once you log in, you will be directed to a page with a list of calls to make. Before making your first call, you will probably want to review the call script by clicking on the link “preview call script” above the list of calls you have been assigned. You can also find the call script in the “Files” section of the Black Women for Obama Yahoo Group.
When you are ready to start calling, click on the first name on the list and you will be directed to a screen with the voter’s phone number and the first question to be asked. If you do not reach the voter, click the appropriate box under the heading “Not Reached” at which point you will be directed back to the list of calls where you can click on the next call assigned to you.
If you do reach a voter, you will need to go through the questions in the order they are in on the web pages. When you get the voter’s answer to the question on one page, you will automatically be directed to the next page and the next question. The suggested language is there simply as a guide for you and you should feel free to deviate from the script and speak in your own words.
When you talk to an undecided voter, please try to engage the voter in a discussion of his or her key issues. To aid you in that discussion, here is the link to the document that contains the basic policy summaries for the campaign:

The process is pretty straight-forward but if you run into questions or issues, please contact Matthew Loveless (mloveless@barackobama.com) or Stephanie Fine for more information (sofine4@gmail.com), or you can call me directly at 404-642-9006. Once you have completed your first list of assigned calls, please click “Request More Phone Numbers” to receive a new list of calls to make. This system on the campaign website allows the campaign to track and recognize those who make the most calls – let’s represent for Black Women for Obama!
Thanks again!
