Who We Are

Black Women for Obama!

Black Women for Obama is a grass roots organization dedicated to the re-election of Barack Obama in 2012. In the 2008 election, we played a pivotal role, especially in the southeast, canvassing and volunteering, and we plan to do so in the months leading up to the 2012 election as well.

We are the voice of black women around the nation, who believe that America needs President Obama to stay right where he is.

We are the mothers, the daughters, the wives, the teachers, and the providers who believe that our nation is STILL in need of a leader who will fight to bring stability back to our families, opportunity back to the masses, and hold greedy corporations responsible for their destructive practices.

We believe that without schools that produce productive, educated citizens, our nation will not maintain its leadership position in the world. We believe that it is imperative that we have a healthy nation, one where all of its people can look forward to access to the greatest health care system in the world, where fear of how you will pay for your medication should not have to compete with how you’ll feed your family.

And most of all, we believe that before 2008, this nation was headed in the wrong direction, and that President Obama’s leadership was what was needed to turn things around . We believe in the unique vision that President Barack Obama has for this country, and we’re committed to spreading the word and doing all we can to ensure that President Barack Obama is re-elected in 2012. Even though I am a right to life Countryside Conservative, I share the nation’s affection and respect for Oprah Winfrey….although I don’t like many of her Hollywood pals! Still, she is very authentic, so her endorsement of Senator Obama impresses me.

I wish that Oprah and Senator Obama would come to agree with ‘Democrats for Life of America’ and cease to oppose the right to be alive of unborn human beings, just as the daughter of Martin Luther King, Jr. has done.

Still, your candidate has a winning personality, and America has no choice but to have a Democrat in the White House, Obama would, in fact, be free of the preceding 14 years of the Bush and Clintonian bad blood! That would be good for America.

I can say this: IF THE REPUBLICANS ARE STUPID ENOUGH TO NOMINATE
RUDY GULIANNI, AND IF THE DEMOCRATS NOMINATE YOUR CANDIDATE, THERE WILL BE MILLIONS OF REPUBLICANS WHO WILL be ABLE TO VOTE FOR SEN. OBAMA WHO COULD NEVER IN 50 LIFETIMES VOTE FOR HILLARY.

MOST OF THE MAINSTREAM PRESS IS TRYING TO BRAINWASH AMERICANS INTO THINKING THAT THE HILLARY NOMINATION IS INEVITABLE, AND THAT THE ONLY REPUBLICAN WHO HAS A CHANCE OF BEATING HER IS RUDY.

I STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH THAT ASSESSMENT. NEITHER HILLARY NOR RUDY ARE THE BEST CANDIDATES OF THEIR RESPECTIVE PARTIES. OBAMA VS. THOMPSON OR OBAMA VS. HUCKABEE OR OBAMA VS. ANOTHER NON-RUDY CANDIDATE WOULD ENCOURAGE THE COUNTRY. THE INSIDE THE BELTWAY CORRUPT STATUS QUO WILL BE WHAT A HILLARY VS. RUDY RACE REPRESENTS.

    Gotta go

  4. We live in an era where the “American people” voted for change. Change with the hope that President Barack Obama would be our “Godsend” to the numerous issues we face as everyday ordinary citizens. Joblessness, racism, corporate crime, drug abuse, and an overall feeling of misplacement seem to be taking hold of our lives with amazing force and perceptive control. It appears the change we voted for has led us to a shore of misery. Many theorists contend that our misery is possibly the catalyst for the beginning of the end of days and that the everyday events unfolding before our eyes are beckoning our ears to posture our minds toward that continually approaching end. Have we really begun to tailspin into our final days? History indicates that we have been given clues from various individuals who have impacted our lives with their gift of foresight. Likely, it can be concluded that some of our current cinematic and musical art may be foretelling our future plight as the “human race” through a brilliant creative process that we may not understand or realize for years to come. Wouldn’t that be remarkable if we were the pawns of the game in of one big spiritual comedy for those who are beyond our realm? The other side could be sending us messages through our current forms of mass communication and gifting the little known or “independent” artists with the actual answers to questions we have about what is to come.

“Life imitating art” or “Art imitating life” are industry clichés profusely expressed with most cinematic productions as a selling or advertising point of interest. But what if there were particular cinematic or musical productions that are truly prophetic, so much so, that when the future comes history will remind us as we look back and say “I told you so!” The Finest Hour film, is such a production! From the brilliant creative fruition of director, producer, and actor Les Shepherd, we invite you to open your mind to the future and see what is happening now. Mr. Shepherd presents a down to earth illustration of the everyday struggles we, as ordinary citizens, all see in some form along with a riveting tale of the spiritual battle we are possibly subjected to with or without our knowledge.

We voted for “change” and yes America we are changing. But what can we say about the “change” we have hung on the head of “one” man. The Finest Hour film portraits many main street issues relevant to how we are changing and gives a realistic look at the elements of how change can be for the better or manipulated for the worse. America’s racial divide is growing wider and wider in the midst of subcultural creation, racially based hiring practices, and targeted issuances of race based hatred. We must come to the realization that our “Godsend” does not hold the key to our future harmony as people of different colors, creeds, and cultures. The Rasmussen Poll suggests a sharp deterioration, from 62% to 26%, in racial relations between blacks and whites since Barack Obama was elected president. In addition to the decline in positive black and white racial relations, illegal immigration is forcing America to not only accept but facilitate employment hiring requirements and multi-level fiscal budgetary arrangements that cater specifically to a secondary mainstream culture in America. Although this secondary culture does not embrace American principle it does embrace America financing its non proportional and uncontrolled growth explosion as legal American’s in general are getting pushed into the backseat of our own country. Blogs such as “The Drudge Report” and right-winged conservatives like Rush Limbaugh ridicule, advertise, and exemplify the “scary black people” effect and targeted disturbances that are fueling an undercurrent of revitalized racial divide similar to that of the 1950’s when America was lost in a sea of the “Inhumanity.” America is in the midst of growing pains that no earthly individual can surmise or relieve. Can we honestly blame the perpetuation of these local circumstances on President Barack Obama and his apparently unanswered call for positive change in our nation?

Now consider for just one moment the possibility that in all actuality President Obama and the actions he is taking under the best advice from the nation’s most gifted analysts really is the eventual answer to our state of crisis. Further, consider a hate based movement blanketing of our consciousness and giving us the perception that he, specifically, is not the “answer” but the “problem.” Recent history has shown us that it is plausible to actually fool a large portion of Americans through the exploitation of our dreams and desires. Trickery accomplished by a smaller segment of greedy people colluding our mental realizations to see the opposite of what we so vitally need. For instance, look at the recent housing market fiasco. We can also be tricked into believing that something blessed is conversely something to fight against. Like Martin Luther King Jr. in the segregated South. Masses of Americans fought against positive racial harmony in our nation. Could we be fighting against the color of President Obama’s skin and assuming a disposition that degrades and confuses the better actions of his hands in regard to the reality of our nations long term needs? What of our individual short term needs? Can we hold the president of our nation responsible for those as well? The answer is a resounding “no” and a circumstantial “yes” in some instances. Instances such as allowing the deregulation of institutions that can affect “everyone” since they are “too big to fail.” Yet through various channels of the media we are somehow led to believe that if President Obama goes into the almighty “change room” and pulls the “change lever” to the “on” position then “all” in America will be just dandy.

Our “change” starts with the individual choices and assumption of responsibility we each take on. Whether we are a business owner, corporation, stock broker, or an unemployed worker who wants to feed themselves or their family. We have to do more than “vote” for “change” in order for it to come to pass. We must also take up the “responsibility” of “change” along with our “vote” and do our part in making America the greatest country on earth.

Our American racial issues are pulling us further and further away from the better “change” that we seek and closer toward a re-segregated America. Some say they will never vote for a “black” person for president again, but realistically does President Obama’s ethnic origin relieve the fact that he “inherited” a “country” on the fast track to financial ruin? How many blacks were chief executive officers or in positions of senior leadership at the banks, brokerages, and corporations that financially raped America during the Bush presidency? How many profited from the “federal bailouts” as Bush was voted out of office in shame. I would venture to say none. Being Black, Latino, Asian, White or other, is not a prerequisite of individualism. We are all “people” and with common ground we can get along without placing skin color before individualism.
